We are dedicated to providing clients with only the highest-quality workmanship. Craftsmen first and foremost, we take a very hands-on approach to ensure that every project comes in on time, on budget, and exceeds all expectations. From start to finish, there is no detail too small and no request too large. We are stewards of our clients' vision

Our Culture

We are a family owned and operated business. We believe that every project, no matter its size or scale, is the product of a dream, and within it lies hopes and aspirations that deserve to be honored and fulfilled. There is nothing impersonal about building something great together.

Our Founder & President

John White began his extensive career in carpentry after returning from serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge from the Army in 1968, he began a carpentry apprenticeship. At this time, White (under the GI Bill) also attended evening classes at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts. Soon, his employers recognized his exceptional attention to detail and he was hired for one freelance construction project after another. Within few years, White was recruited to teach carpentry at Portsmouth High School in Portsmouth, New Hampshire to students as well as to adults in continuing-education courses.

Years later, in 1985, White formed his own company, White Construction. He and his team designed and built custom homes and completed many small-scale commercial remodels all over New England. For 20 years, White Construction measured its success in client loyalty, repeat business, and word-of-mouth referrals.

In 2015, White enthusiastically started Old Reliables Consulting & Construction, a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, named in honor of his military unit, the 9th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army, affectionately known as the Old Reliables.
